About this tool
Breaks text into characters and shows each code point, its UTF-8 byte sequence, the HTML entity and the JavaScript escape. It reveals invisible characters such as zero-width spaces and non-breaking spaces that break copy.
How to use it
- Paste the text to inspect.
- Read the table of characters and their encodings.
- Filter for invisible characters when debugging odd spacing.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a character show as U+00A0?
That is a non-breaking space. It looks like a space but does not collapse, which often causes alignment surprises.
Can I see emoji sequences?
Yes. Multi-code-point emoji appear as several entries, which is exactly why some counters disagree about their length.
