Frequently asked questions
What reading speed is assumed?
200 words per minute by default, a common average for adults reading English on screen. Technical or non-native content is often slower; change the rate to match.
Does it account for images?
No. Figures and code blocks add time that a word count cannot measure, so treat the estimate as a lower bound.
