About this tool
Builds strings from a chosen mix of lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols using a cryptographic random source. Use it for API keys, coupon codes, test fixtures or short identifiers, and exclude look-alike characters when values will be read aloud.
How to use it
- Set the length and number of strings, then pick the character sets.
- Optionally exclude ambiguous characters such as 0, O, l and 1.
- Generate and copy the values.
Frequently asked questions
Is the randomness secure?
Values come from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure generator, not Math.random.
Can I generate a token for production?
For high-value secrets generate and store them server-side; a page like this one should not be the source of record for credentials.
