About this tool
Encodes reserved characters so a value can travel safely inside a URL. Choose full-component encoding for query values, or path mode that keeps slashes readable for route segments.
How to use it
- Paste the text or URL fragment to encode.
- Choose component mode (everything encoded) or path mode (slashes kept).
- Copy the encoded value.
Frequently asked questions
Should spaces become %20 or +?
%20 is correct in a path; + is only meaningful in form bodies. Use %20 unless you specifically target form encoding.
Why is my full URL being encoded?
In component mode even : and / are encoded. Switch to path mode when encoding a whole address.
