URL Decoder
Turn percent-encoded URLs back into readable text.
Input
This tool runs entirely in your browser. The data you paste or load is never uploaded.
Result
Enter your input, then run the tool.
About this tool
Decodes %XX escapes and converts plus signs to spaces in query mode. Invalid escape sequences are flagged instead of being silently dropped, which helps when debugging mangled redirects.
How to use it
- Paste the encoded URL or value.
- Select query mode if plus signs should become spaces.
- Decode and copy the readable result.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my plus signs disappear?
In query mode + is decoded as a space, matching form encoding. Switch to path mode to keep literal plus signs.
Can I decode a string twice?
Yes, but each pass decodes one layer. If the output still contains %XX, run it again.
