About this tool

Translates letters, digits and punctuation into International Morse code and decodes dots and dashes back into text. The direction is detected automatically, accents are simplified, and words are separated with a slash.

How to use it

  1. Type text, or paste Morse code using dots, dashes, spaces and slashes.
  2. Leave the direction on automatic or force it.
  3. Copy the translation.

Frequently asked questions

How are letters and words separated?
One space separates letters and a slash (/) separates words. Decoding also accepts three spaces between words.
What happens to accented letters?
They are converted to their plain letter, so “é” becomes E, because International Morse has no standard accented forms.
