About this tool
Adds, subtracts, multiplies or divides two fractions or mixed numbers such as 1 1/2, and returns the simplified fraction, the mixed number and the decimal value, with the common denominator used for addition and subtraction.
How to use it

Frequently asked questions
How do I add fractions with different denominators?
Rewrite both over a common denominator, add the numerators, then simplify: 1/2 + 1/3 = 3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6.
Can I enter whole numbers and decimals?
Whole numbers, yes (5 means 5/1). Decimals such as 0.25 are converted to fractions too.
