About this tool

Parses the EXIF block of a JPEG and lists camera, lens, exposure and timestamp fields, plus GPS coordinates when present. If the file has no metadata, it says so instead of showing invented values.

How to use it

  1. Load a JPEG photo, ideally straight from a camera.
  2. Browse the grouped metadata fields.
  3. Use “remove metadata” guidance before publishing if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my metadata empty?
Social networks and messaging apps strip EXIF, and PNG files usually store metadata differently. An empty result means the file genuinely has none.
Does this show GPS location?
When the camera recorded it, yes, including decimal coordinates. That is a good reason to strip metadata before sharing photos publicly.
