Frequently asked questions
Why do all browsers mention “Mozilla”?
For historical compatibility: servers once sent better pages to Mozilla, so every browser kept the token. The real browser is identified by later tokens.
Is user-agent detection reliable?
Only roughly. Browsers can spoof it and are freezing parts of it; use feature detection in code, and the user agent for statistics and logs.
