About this tool

Converts a byte count into readable sizes using both decimal (kB, MB, GB) and binary (KiB, MiB, GiB) conventions, and shows how long the file takes to transfer at common speeds. Helpful for sizing uploads and interpreting server limits.

How to use it

  1. Enter the size and the unit it is expressed in.
  2. Read both decimal and binary interpretations.
  3. Check the transfer estimate at your target speed.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there two answers?
Because “MB” is used for both 10^6 and 2^20 bytes depending on the software. Showing both removes the ambiguity.
Does the transfer time include overhead?
No, it is a lower bound based on the raw size and the chosen speed. Protocol overhead and contention add time.
