About this tool

Puts every selector and declaration on its own line and indents nested at-rules, without changing any value. Useful for auditing a minified stylesheet or reviewing a rule before pasting it into a project.

How to use it

  1. Paste a stylesheet, minified or not.
  2. Pick the indentation width.
  3. Format and copy or download the readable CSS.

Frequently asked questions

Are shorthand values left alone?
Yes. The formatter only adds whitespace around braces, semicolons and selectors; values are not rewritten.
Does it handle @media and @supports?
Nested at-rule blocks are indented one level deeper and their braces stay balanced.
